The Quebec government is criticizing a judge for considering race when sentencing a man for drug trafficking. The CAQ is accusing the judge of lacking objectivity and giving the suspect a lighter sentence because of the colour of his skin. As Franca Mignacca explains, while this is a first in Quebec, race has been considered in sentencing for years elsewhere in the country.
