A huge food giveaway saw its biggest crowd yet in British Columbia over the weekend. Surrey’s Ugly Potato Day gives out free produce that’s not considered sellable in grocery stores, with the aim of reducing food waste and helping everyone afford nutritious food. This year they gave out more than half a million pounds of fresh produce.
