Amid an intense wildfire season and worsening conditions on the east coast, the federal government announced $45.7 million in funding on Tuesday for research focused on protecting citizens from the increasing threat of wildfires. The funds will go towards 30 projects to help Canadians and Indigenous communities assess risk of wildfires and develop adaptive forestry practices.
