Chinese tariffs on Canadian canola will have a ‘devastating impact,’ Premier Moe warns

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe said on Tuesday that he is “extremely disappointed” with the decision by the Chinese government to impose temporary tariffs of 78.5 per cent on Canada’s canola seeds. “That will have a devastating impact on the price points for Saskatchewan’s canola industry… This hit will stop a significant amount of trade that is flowing into China today,” Moe said.
