Homeless people in Washington, D.C. could face fines or jail time if they refuse to leave encampments amid the Trump administration’s push to federalize law enforcement in the U.S. capital, the White House said Tuesday. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the government would re-assess the need for federal enforcement at the end of the 30-day period.
