Typhoon Kajiki churned toward Vietnam鈥檚 central coast on Monday, unleashing powerful winds and heavy rain in Nghe An province that flooded streets and damaged rooftops hours before its expected landfall. 鈥淚t鈥檚 terrifying,鈥 said Dang Xuan Phuong, a 48-year-old hotel chef. 鈥淚 could see waves as tall as two metres, and the water has flooded the roads around us. This is terrible, given that the storm is still five or six hours away.
