Business Matters: Canadian economy contracts 1.6% in Q2 as tariffs hit, StatCan says

The Canadian economy shrank last quarter as exports plummeted in the face of U.S. tariffs. Statistics Canada says real GDP fell 1.6 per cent on an annualized basis in the second quarter, slowing from growth of two per cent in the first quarter of the year.
