‘Canada has to wake up’ — Economist on U.S. Tariffs
Description
August 30, 2025
The way Canadians and Americans shop online could drastically change. As of August 29th, the United States has officially revoked the 'de minimis' exemption for Canada — a provision that allowed packages under $800 to enter the U.S. duty-free. But now, a federal appeals court ruled that some of Trump's global tariffs are illegal. One expert says its time for Canada to 'wake up.'
