Hundreds are dead following a 6.0-magnitude earthquake that struck a mountainous area of eastern Afghanistan close to the border with Pakistan, local officials said on Monday. The disaster, one of the country’s worst earthquakes, has killed over 800 people and injured at least 2,800 others in the eastern provinces of Kunar and Nangarhar, authorities said.
