Manitoba mass stabbing: 1 dead, 7 injured after violent spree on First Nations reserve north of Winnipeg

Two people are dead, including the suspect, and multiple people are injured after a mass stabbing incident at Hollow Water First Nation, two hours northeast of Winnipeg. Manitoba RCMP Superintendent Rob Lawson said Thursday that suspect Tyrone Simard went on a violent stabbing spree in the early morning hours. Simard fled the scene in a stolen vehicle but was killed in a crash with an RCMP vehicle responding to the scene. The officer suffered critical but non-life threatening injuries. Police also confirmed that the 18-year-old victim was the suspect’s sister.
