Industry Minister Melanie Joly said on Monday that the aluminum sector is expected to receive “hundreds of millions” of dollars from the federal government’s tariff relief fund. Aluminum Association of Canada president Jean Simard added the funding is about ensuring the sector remains competitive globally.
