Netanyahu condemns Canada in defiant UN speech that most nations opted out of hearing

Israel’s prime minister took centre stage at the United Nations on Friday, and he had some harsh words for Canada. Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the Canadian government’s recent decision to recognize a Palestinian state, warning it would encourage attacks on Jewish communities. Canadian officials remained seated throughout the speech, but as Jackson Proskow reports, many other diplomats did not.
