Federal Jobs Minister Patty Hadju announced Monday that Canadian steel maker, Algoma Steel, will be receiving $400 million in federal loans through the ‘large enterprise tariff loan’ as well as another $100 million from the Ontario provincial government, amid U.S. tariffs. The loans will help the company, which is based in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., to help maintain its workforce.
