During question period in the House of Commons on Tuesday, Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre condemned Prime Minister Mark Carney for his progress on establishing a trade deal with the United States amid an unfolding trade war. Noting that Carney promised President Donald Trump that Canadian government policies would drive $1 trillion out of Canada’s economy into the U.S., Poilievre questioned, “Why did the prime minister sell out Canadian workers in his visit to Washington?”
