During Question Period on Wednesday, Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre accused Prime Minister Mark Carney of driving up grocery prices through hidden 鈥淟iberal taxes鈥 on farmers and manufacturers. Carney countered that independent research shows the industrial carbon tax has a 鈥渘et impact of around zero per cent鈥 on food prices, while a Liberal minister dismissed the Opposition鈥檚 claims as 鈥渋maginary taxes.鈥 The clash then turned to the auto sector, where Poilievre charged the government with failing to deliver a promised U.S. trade deal and 鈥渟elling out鈥 Canadian workers.
