The FBI’s Detroit Field Office confirmed Friday morning that officers were conducting law enforcement activities in Dearborn and Inkster, Mich. This statement was made in response to inquiries about a social media post by FBI Director Kash Patel, which reads: “This morning, the FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple individuals in Michigan who were allegedly planning a violent attack over the Halloween weekend.” The bureau further assured “there is no current threat to public safety.” A court hearing related to the investigation is scheduled for Friday afternoon.
