BC scraps plan for anti-tariff ads that angered Trump, aligns with Ottawa on softwood strategy

At a press conference on Monday, British Columbia Premier David Eby says the province will no longer proceed with anti-tariff ads aimed at American audiences, following backlash to a similar Ontario campaign.聽
聽Eby says the decision reflects a new, coordinated approach with Ottawa on softwood lumber strategy as Canada-US trade talks remain stalled.聽聽鈥淲e鈥檒l ensure our communications are in line with the federal government,鈥 he said, adding that both levels of government will work together to support forestry workers and communities affected by the dispute.
