A red alert was declared in Peralillo, Chile, on Tuesday after several forest fires burned down over five hectares. Alejandra Riquelme, head of the Chilean National Emergency Office stated that there were 439 hectares burning, and 120 people had been evacuated. Over fifty-nine forest fires have been reported throughout the country since Monday.
