Coronavirus outbreak: Cuomo disagrees with McConnell’s idea for states to declare bankruptcy over economic bailouts

On Friday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said that Republican Senator Mitch McConnell’s idea for states to declare bankruptcy rather than receive economic bailouts is not only unethical, but it sends a signal to international markets that the U.S. is in “real trouble.” Cuomo said if McConnell pushes for a bill allowing for states to do so, and it comes law, New York would not be partaking.
