Vice-President Mike Pence, during the Republican National Convention on Wednesday, spoke about ongoing protests happening in various cities across the U.S. related to racial injustice and police brutality – most recently in Kenosha, Wisc. He said that he and U.S. President Donald Trump support peaceful protests, but that “violence must stop” and that “rioting and looting is not peaceful protest.” He said they don’t have to choose between supporting law enforcement or standing with their “African-American neighbours” as he sees it.
