Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced Thursday that all staff in assisted living facilities and long-term care homes in the province must be vaccinated against COVID-19 by Oct. 12. She said it will be a condition of employment and an important tool to fight the variant infections in some of the province's most vulnerable population.
