Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino said on Tuesday that Canada and its allies had received assurances from the Taliban that refugees and nationals would be allowed to leave Afghanistan now that Western forces are gone. 鈥淲e have a clear commitment from the Taliban, and we are going to hold them to it,鈥 Mendicino stated.
