‘New Day’ at the Forks represents an important shift in how Canadians connect with history and each other

Asst. Professor Sean Carlton in the department of History and Indigenous Studies spoke to ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ about how the Forks’ ‘New Day’ reflects a change in how Canadians are beginning to come to terms with their countries past. After consultations with Indigenous groups the Forks re-named usual Canada Day events to ‘New Day’ in the spirit of reflection and reconciliation.
