Dr. Brent Roussin, Manitoba’s chief public health officer, administered the two doses of the new bivalent COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday at the Winnipeg Convention Centre to announce the kick-off for the fall bivalent booster campaign. The bivalent vaccine is composed of the original strain and the omicron variant to provide much broader protection against circulating strains. Roussin is encouraging all Manitobans to get their booster as it helps strengthen and renew the body’s immune system.
