Speaking to the Emergencies Act inquiry on Tuesday, Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson said that the City of Ottawa 鈥渓ost control鈥 in the downtown core during the so-called 鈥淔reedom Convoy鈥 protest in February. He said that the result of this was 鈥渓awlessness鈥 in the area of Ottawa labelled as the 鈥渞ed zone鈥 during the demonstration 鈥 a three-square-kilometre area downtown that encompassed Parliament Hill and a number of residential areas.
