Bill Shead, co-chair of Friends of the Peguis-Selkirk Treaty Inc., elaborated on the plan behind the monument on Tuesday.
Shead reflected on Peguis’s legacy saying “his role was fundamental in making sure all people, including settlers that arrived in 1812, lived in peace and shared the land.”
