Grand Chief Garrison Settee, of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, called upon the government to act on Monday following a weekend apartment fire on Shoal Lake 40 First Nation that displaced 30 residents. Settee said that leaders have been demanding resources and equipment to fight fires and prevent incidents like this.
