During a technical briefing by Environment Canada on Saturday, Gerald Chang, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, touched upon what levels of smoke Ontarians and Québécois affected by the ongoing, and “still out of control” wildfires should expect on Sunday. Though rain is forecasted for Quebec this weekend and throughout next week, Chang says he could not determine whether it will be enough to extinguish the province’s ongoing fires, adding that the downpour will likely only have a “limited effect.”
