Canada鈥檚 economy is showing signs of underlying strength as some consumers and businesses brush off recession fears, a flurry of data releases on Friday suggests. The country鈥檚 GDP growth was 鈥渆ssentially unchanged鈥 in April, according to Statistics Canada鈥檚 report for the month, revised down from early estimates for 0.2 per cent growth. Anne Gaviola reports.
