Quebec’s new rules for online short-term rental platforms came into effect on Friday. The province brought in a new law and new fines, after seven people were killed in a massive fire in March. They were in a building in Old Montreal that contained several illegal Airbnbs. As Mike Armstrong reports, there appears to be some progress, but watchdog groups say many are still flouting the law.
